The Amrut distillery is the most famous ditillery from India that produces very high quality whisky. At high altitude and with warm temperatures the whiskies mature extra fast in the barrel, but also a lot of whisky evaporates, which they call 'angels share'. And this has happened at as many as 3 casks, first this whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks, then in a specially selected ex-port cask and then finished again in an ex-bourbon cask. That this whisky is still bottled at 62.1% cask strength makes it extra special.
