Yamazakura means "mountain cherry blossom" and is produced by Sasanokawa Shuzo. The company is located in Koriyama on the island of Honshu. Of this blended whisky with 80% corn grain and 20% malt whisky only 1,992 bottles are available and were bottled exclusively for Europe. This whisky matured 16 years in bourbon barrels, then crossed for unknown time in inert containers and before bottling a short time in bourbon barrels, "to bring the spirit back to life."
