Focusing almost solely on single malt whisky, Westland is one of the most heralded craft distilleries in the United States. Most of the barley is sourced locally. Master distiller Matt Hoffman used 5 different types of barley for the Westland American Oak Single Malt: Munich malt, extra special malt, brown malt, pale chocolate malt, and Washington Select pale malt. The Westland American Oak Single Malt matured in new American oak and first-fill ex-bourbon barrels for a minimum of 36 months.
