Togouchi – Pure Malt is a whisky created by Chugoku Jozo, a Japanese company that imports single malts from different distilleries, including some from Scotland. They subsequently age this whisky in the former city of Togouchi. Chugoku Jozo matures their whisky in a 362-meter-long former train tunnel. The temperature in this tunnel is always 15 degrees. According to the company, not all Japanese people like the flavour of peat that is often prevalent in Scotch whisky. That’s why the whiskies are blended into a coherent, balanced and mild pure malt.
