Stout is a popular Irish beer; almost everyone knows Guinness. The Galway Bay Brewery borrowed Bourbon barrels from the Teeling Distillery to age their 'two hundred Fathoms Imperial Stout'. Then the barrels went back to Teeling who, again, put whiskey in it. Beer gets a lot of additional flavor by aging it in Whiskey barrels; The other way around, it certainly has influence as well. An Irish Whiskey is quite soft, the beer barrels give real strength and taste to this Teeling.
