Based on an old recipe from Charles Tanqueray from the 1830s, the Tanqueray Malacca is a softly spices version of the original. It is named after the Straits of Malacca, a waterway separating Malaysia and Indonesia. The levels of citrus are increased in the Tanqueray Malacca and the flavor profile is not too dissimilar to some of the classic styles of Old Tom gin. Needless to say, it works great in cocktails.
