Tamnavulin is one of the distilleries founded during the whisky boom of the early 1960s. While it might be fairly unknown because it mainly produces for blended whiskies, Tamnavulin actually has a large capacity and produces millions of liters of whisky per annum. Only some of that single malt reaches the shelves, like the Tamnavulin Tempranillo. Originally released for the Travel Retail market, this Speyside single malt initially matured in American oak barrels. It was finished in casks which previously held Tempranillo red wine.
