The Prometheus is a Speyside Single Malt Whisky from an unspecified distillery, bottled by Glasgow Distillery Co. under the Prometheus label. Many have tried in vain to find out which distillery was behind these barrels, so far nobody has found out yet. According to Greek mythology, Prometheus is the titan that gave man the fire, which is of course an essential component of distillation (even though there are not many direct fired today). The Prometheus, 27 Y is matured on "first fill" Spanish Sherry Casks and is only bottled in a limited amount of 1,500 bottles.
