Amrut - Kadhambam

Amrut - Kadhambam

India

In 1947, founder J.N. Radhakrishna Rao Jagdale established a company called Amrut Laboratories in Bangalore, Karnataka, with an initial investment of a few hundred thousand rupees. Kadhambam means 'mixture' or 'combination' in Tamil. This Amrut is a blend of Amrut peated and Amrut single malt that first matured in 'Bangalore Blue brandy' casks, then in Rum casks and finally in Oloroso Sherry butts, which come from the own stock of the distillery; both rum and brandy are also produced at this distillery.

Hibiki - Japanese Harmony

Hibiki - Japanese Harmony

Japan

First released in the summer of 2015, Hibiki Japanese Harmony is crafted by the Suntory Whisky blending team, led by Master Blender Shingo Torii with malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries and, for the larger component by volume, grain whisky from the Chita distillery. The whiskies are drawn from 5 different types of casks, amongst others American white oak, Sherry and Japanese Mizunara oak casks, entering a new phase of ‘no age statement’. Light, approachable with notes of orange peel and white chocolate.

Jack Daniels - Single Barrel

Jack Daniels - Single Barrel

USA

Jack Daniel's is a premium quality sour mash Tennessee whiskey and world's best selling American whiskey. For this Single Barrel just one of the 100 barrels is chosen after testing and being found good enough. The barrels age on the top floor of the Jack Daniel's warehouses. These are most exposed to extreme temperature changes that occur in Tennessee, so the whiskey gets its deep color and flavor.

WhistlePig - Straight Rye, 15 Y

WhistlePig - Straight Rye, 15 Y

United States of America

WhistlePig is one of the biggest success stories of the modern whiskey world. The brand has only been around since 2007, but American rye whiskey has won numerous prices nonetheless. The WhistlePig 15 Y – Vermont Estate Oak is one of their oldest whiskeys, but also the first to be finished in oak that was harvested on the distillery farm. This wood has more rings than the standard American oak used for whiskey, giving it more opportunity to impart deeper flavors.

Johnnie Walker’s flagship whisky! This blend of 16 of the rarest Scotch single malts is an homage to the art of blending, perfected by father John Walker and son Alexander. It is a very limited whisky, which is why every bottle has its own individual number. The whiskies have aged for an exceptional amount of time, often in former sherry casks. Rich malts from the iconic Isle of Islay are at the heart of Johnnie Walker Blue Label. The result is a sublime, smoky and tasty whisky.

But their current distillery was built in 1984 and they’ve only been releasing single malt whisky since 2007. Whisky production at this small family distillery is very limited, as they’re only active during the warmer months. Their Akashi Sherry Cask has matured for 5 years in a top-quality sherry cask: Japanese whisky at its finest!

Willett - Pot Still Reserve

Willett - Pot Still Reserve

USA

It’s a striking bottle, but the whiskey inside it deserves this fancy packaging. This Kentucky Bourbon might be a little difficult to pour, but the rewards come afterwards. Willett Distillery was completely renovated in 2012 and shifted from independent bottling company to actually distilling its own whiskey. There are a total of eight bonded warehouses on-site, for a total capacity of almost 50,000 barrels of delicious whiskey.

Togouchi, 15 Y

Togouchi, 15 Y

Japan

A 15 year old blended whisky from the Togouchi range, produced by Chugoku Jozo in Japan. The company was founded in 1918 and is based in Akiota. They do not distil whisky themselves, but import the Malt Whisky from Scotland and the Grain Whisky from Canada. Blending and maturing takes place in Japan, which means it can be called Japanese whisky. The location for maturing the Whisky is a special one. An old, deserted train tunnel in the area turns out to be the ideal place to age whisky.
