Since Mackmyra was founded in the late 1990s, it has grown to become one of the pre-eminent whisky distilleries on the European mainland. The word Vintersol translates to ‘Winter Sun’. This single malt was created in collaboration with the Port wine producer Quinta Da Vallado. The concept is to combine the wintery Swedish single malt with sun-soaked grapes. That’s why the Mackmyra – Vintersol was finished in casks that previously held Port from Quinta Da Vallado. A whisky to bring some sunshine into the cold, dark months of winter.
