The Speymalt 2003 is not bottled by Macallan themselves, but by Gordon & MacPhail, an independent bottler from the Scottish Speyside. They buy the spirit from Macallan's boilers and let them mature on their own, in this case' refill' sherry drums, in their warehouses in Elgin. Macallan's whisky is recognizable by its sturdy character, they have relatively small pots. By the choice of G&M for high quality sherry barrels, this Speymalt 2003 still has the typical Macallan flavour.
