Macallan is undoubtedly the most luxurious of Scottish whisky brands. In the past year, theirs was the first whisky to ever sell for more than 1 million euro at auction. They also opened a new state-of-the-art distillery that’s very much worth visiting if you’re ever in Scotland. Their Macallan, 12 Y - Double Cask is created from American and European Oloroso sherry seasoned oak casks, and is a fine example of why Macallan has such a high reputation. A wonderful harmonious single malt.
