By delving into archives and doing academic-level research, the Lost Distillery Company recreates whisky from lost Scottish distilleries. One such distillery is Towiemore, which was built during the whisky boom of the late 19th century, but distilled whisky for just 30 years. During this time, it garnered a reputation as an excellent pure malt whisky. In the end, it could not be saved from closure, but has now been revived by the Lost Distillery Company.
