Kurayoshi is a blended malt from a relatively unknown Japanese whisky producer, Matsui Shuzou. This distillery was established in 1910 and is mainly known for the production of shochu, a traditional Japanese spirit. Matsui Shuzou is located in the Japanese Tottori Prefecture, a coastal district famous for its sand dunes. Their Kurayoshi Pure Malt is made from malt whisky sourced from Scotland, which is blended with malt whisky distilled at Matsui Shuzou. It’s aged for a minimum of 3 years in bourbon casks.
