The Bottled in Bond Act was passed in the late 1800s, and insures a certain level of quality for each bottle of whiskey that carries this statement. A bottled-in-bond whiskey has to be distilled at a single distillery during a single distilling season, aged for at least 4 years and bottled at 50 percent abv. It is a true stamp of approval.
