Only launched in 2021, Indri single malt is a fairly new Indian whisky and a nice companion of more known Indian distilleries like Amrut and Paul John. Owned by the Piccadily distilleries with a long history of hospitality and hotels, this whisky is produced at the foothills of the Himalayan mountains. Made by using traditional Indian six row barley, which is cultivated using old indigenous practices that rely on organic and sustainable methods. The yield may be smaller but it gives a fruity and floral distinctive taste. The spirit is matured in ex-bourbon, ex-french wine and ex-sherry casks and then married to give a deep and complex taste not found in many other whiskies.
