Ichiro Akuto is the rockstar of the Japanese whisky industry. His family once owned the closed distillery Hanyu. Not to be outdone, he founded the acclaimed Chichibu Distillery in 2007. His whiskies have since impressed around the globe. Ichiro’s Malt & Grain is a lovely blended malt from Japan. As the name suggests, it is made with both malt and grain whisky from Japan (not necessarily Chichibu) as well as whisky from other countries. It is described as a worldwide blended whisky on the label.
