Gouden Carolus Single Malt is the brainchild of Charles Leclef. He started out as brewer at Belgian brewery Het Anker but founded a distillery of his own at the Leclef family estate in 2010. For centuries this estate was used to produce genever, a traditional Belgian drink. By reviving the distilling heritage of his family, Leclef created a perfect marriage between the past and present. Gouden Carolus Sinlge Malt matures in first-fill bourbon casks and is finished so-called Het Anker casks, which are exclusively made for the distillery.
