This year it’s 140 years ago that the first pure spirit flowed from the spirit stills of Glenrothes, and the distillery has since continually produced high quality whisky. Glenrothes is located in the heart of Speyside and prides itself on their spring water, slow distillation, and sherry cask maturation, as well as bottling their whisky at natural color. The Glenrothes Robur Reserve is a travel retail exclusive, and is named for European oak, which is called Quercus Robur in Latin. Indeed, this is aged in a good proportion of first-fill Oloroso sherry casks.
