In 1738, a beer brewery started at the Glenmorangie farm. Later on, also whisky was distilled. In 1887 the farm was completely rebuilt to realize the idea of making very pure whisky which required the use of very high stills. Today, Glenmorangie still has the highest stills of Scotland. This Quinta Ruban has matured for 12 years in Bourbon barrels. After that, the whisky was aged in Port casks for more than half a year.
