Already in 1843 William Matheson received a permit to distill Whisky on his farm, Glenmorangie. For years it was a small distillery, making Highland Whisky for blends in peace and quiet. In 1980 and 1990, the number of stills doubled and the popularity increased rapidly. Now Glenmorangie is a major player in the whisky world. This 18-year-old has matured on bourbon barrels and then got a short finish on Oloroso sherry casks.
