There are blended whiskies and single malts, but then you have blended malts as well. This style of whisky is made by combining single malt whiskies from different distilleries. Glenalmond Blended Malt is one such example, although we’ll probably never know which single malts exactly were used to dream up this tasty concoction. It matured in sherry and bourbon casks and is named after the River Almond. That’s also why there’s a big fish on the label. A brown trout to be exact, which is very common in the River Almond.
