Glen Scotia is one of the few remaining distilleries in Campbeltown. This small Scotch whisky region used to be a hub of whisky distillers, but now counts just 3 distilleries, of which Glen Scotia is the largest. It has a somewhat checkered history and has changed owners many times, but in recent years Glen Scotia’s single malts have received much acclaim. The Glen Scotia Victoriana mostly matured in ex-bourbon casks, before a final finishing period in first-fill Pedro Ximenez casks and heavy charred American oak.
