In contrast to most of its neighbors on the Isle of Islay, Bunnahabhain is mostly known for their unpeated whisky. Bunnahabhain was founded in 1881 and initially did produce smoky whisky, but that practice almost completely stopped from the 1960’s onward. Dun Bheagan, an independent bottler of malt whisky, selected two 10 Year old ex-bourbon casks and bottled them at an impressive cask strength. If you’re familiar with Bunnahabhain, this might not be what you expect — it’s a chance to explore other avenues of Bunnahabhain’s spirit.
