Big Peat is based on a rugged Illeach (native of Islay) and serves as figurehead of Douglas Laing’s Big Peat Islay Single Malt. There are many different expressions available, but the annual Big Peat Christmas is usually one of the highlights of the year. This blended malt contains single malt whisky from a large number if Islay’s legendary distilleries. Caol Ila brings sweetness to the table, Bowmore delivers a perfect balance, Ardbeg adds medicinal notes and Port Ellen infuses an earthy quality.
