The Deveron single malt hails from MacDuff distillery, located where the river meets the sea, near the mouth of the river Deveron. MacDuff is a comparatively modern distillery, built in 1960, and is an important component of the popular William Lawson blend. For a long time, it was owned by an Italian company which explains why the whisky is rather fresh and inviting. The Italians have had a decades long love affair with young fresh malts such as Deveron.
