Dellavalle Distilleria from Vigliano d'Asti in northern Italy, just below Turin, has been making great Grappas since 1983. The Ciliegio, meaning cherry tree, is obtained from the distillation of the best grape pulp from the most suitable areas of Monferrato. Distilled in bain-marie in small stills and then aged for about 6 years in 225-litre cherry wood barrels, which gives the grappa special aromas of ripe cherries and crippled wood.
