In the middle of the Highlands in Scotland is the Dalwhinnie distillery, opened in 1897. Since the opening, little has changed; their 15 year old whisky is popular, soft and accessible. For a few years now there has been the Winter's Gold, an ageless whisky that has been distilled during the coldest weeks of the year. It is recommended that this whisky is stored in the freezer; the honey and heather tones should then be shown to their best advantage during the heating of the whisky.
