The distillery was founded in 1891 by a consortium, led by Peter Mackie – a skilled whisky maker – and Alexander Edwards – businessman and whisky connoisseur. Craigellachie sits firm in the heart of speyside, in the middle of scotch territory. It obstinately stands alone on a rock overlooking the confluence of the rivers Fiddich and Spey.
Craigellachie is not your typical ‘speyside’ flavour. It consciously makes no concessions to modern-day house rules. Craigellachie is a unique whisky, robust and muscular with a hint of pineapple. Matured for 13 year in American oak and non-chill filtered.
