For a while it looked as though Bladnoch would be lost forever. The distillery was mothballed almost 10 years ago and its future was very much in the balance until Australian entrepreneur David Prior stepped in. He purchased the distillery in 2015 and reopened it two years later after an extensive refurbishment. Bladnoch is now once again one of the pre-eminent Lowland distilleries. One of their latest is the Bladnoch , 11 Y, which matured in ex-bourbon as well as ex-Californian red wine cask.
