Bladnoch Distillery has a checkered history. Founded in 1817, for the first century or so everything seemed to go well. The distillery has since been closed several times. Australian businessman David Prior is the latest entrepreneur brave enough to take on this diamond in the rough-because that is what Bladnoch is. It produces a wonderful example of the Scottish Lowland style, which is very uncommon these days since there aren’t many distilleries left in that region. Matured in bourbon casks, the spirit truly shines in this Bladnoch, 10 Y.
