BenRiach distillery was founded 1897, but closed only two years later, when economic disaster struck the entire Scotch whisky industry. It wasn’t until 1965, when whisky’s fortunes took a turn, when the distillery reopened. Nowadays BenRiach is a respected producer of single malt, and one of the few distilleries to still operate its own malting floor. Their flagship BenRiach 10-year-old is a classic Speyside whisky, with a cask formula that focuses on ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
