Founded in 1995, Isle of Arran Distillery is one of the oldest new distilleries. They’ve built a strong reputation since and are already an established brand. The island in the Firth of Clyde is steeped in whisky tradition. It is a fertile place where southern farmers had plenty of grains to work with. Illicit distilling was commonplace during the 18th and 19th century, many of it ending up in Glasgow. One of their more recent releases is the Arran Sherry Cask, dubbed The Bodega. It matured for 7 years in first-fill sherry hogshead and is a wonderful, modern sherry bomb.
