Arran is one of the few remaining independent distilleries. In the 19th century there were about 50 active distilleries, most of which were illegal. After the closure of the island's last distillery in 1837, Isle of Arran Distillers was founded in 1994. Here the new spirit matures on refill Sherry and Bourbon casks. This 18 year matured is, after its limited predecessor, a fixed part of the core assortment. A refined whisky, in which you can taste the character of the distillery.
