The Ardbeg distillery is located on the south coast of Islay. In 1794 illegal whisky started to be distilled here, but in 1815 it became legal. All the island's beautiful delicate iodine-containing flavours are represented in this whisky. Perfectly balanced with an underlying sweetness through the use of a unique copper 'purifier' on the stills, a 'peaty paradox'. Ardbeg bottles this 10 year aged at 46%, so that no cold filtration is necessary and all original nuances are retained.
