John & William Hardie began their quest to create the perfect blended Scotch whisky some 150 years ago. When they finally settled on a recipe, The Antiquary was named after the 1816 gothic novel by Sir Walter Scott. The brand is currently owned by Tomatin Distillery, and 45 percent of the blend consists of Highland and Speyside malts. There’s just a dash of Islay malt to account for a light smokiness.
