Indian whisky has become a force to be reckoned with and Amrut is an important reason why. This distillery was founded in 1948 but its first single malt was introduced in 2004. First launched in Scotland of all places, it can now be found in 48 countries worldwide. Six-row barley, which grows in northern India, is the great differentiator between Indian malt and whisky made elsewhere. Amrut – Cask Strength is of course bottled at cask strength. Due to the warmer climate it only ages for 4 to 5 years, but is very mature nonetheless.
