We had the opportunity to taste the Canadian Glen Breton in the Tasting Club edition of January 2022, but Glen Breton has made a remarkable edition which is the first whisky ever to have aged on barrels that previously have aged ice-wine. Ice wine is already something special that not many people have heard of. This is wine made of grapes that are naturally frozen while on the vineyard. Because the sugar inside the grape doesn’t freeze but the water does, it gives a very concentrated and really sweet juice when it’s pressed. This sweeter wine gave a lot of flavour to the cask where this Canadian Single Malt whisky is aged in.
