Its iconic bottle shape is inspired by a three-part cocktail shaker made famous during Prohibition’s classic cocktail movement in the ‘Roaring 1920s.’ The pineapple fruit, which was once considered so exotic that it became the ultimate symbol of hospitality in 1830s England, featured in the Tanqueray family crest and it adorns every bottle from the Tanqueray Distilling Company.

To this day Gordon's is distilled to this same exacting standard — the exact blend of our botanicals remains a closely guarded secret. The attention to detail results in a distinctive that mixes perfect in long mixed drinks and cocktails.

Eind jaren 80 van de vorige eeuw is deze Gin opnieuw geïntroduceerd, om het stoffige imago van Gin een nieuwe boost te geven. Alle ingrediënten worden geïnfuseerd in graanalcohol; geen van de gebruikte kruiden worden dus meegestookt. Het resultaat is een prima Gin voor allerlei cocktails. Puur is het een zachte fruitige en kruidige Gin.

1689 - Authentic Dutch Dry Gin

Willem III uit Nederland werd in 1689 aangewezen als Koning van Engeland. En door zijn aanstelling kwam het Engelse volk in aanraking met gin. De 1689 Authentic Dutch Dry Gin is gebaseerd op het oorspronkelijke recept van de Koning, dat ontdekt werd in de British Library. Daarin stonden alle ingrediënten, maar de hoeveelheden waren helaas gecodeerd. Samen met de ervaren distillateurs van Herman Jansen in Schiedam werd er desalniettemin een geweldige gin gemaakt, met oorspronkelijke ingrediënten zoals rode kweepeer, jeneverbes, citroenschil en anijs.
