If you want to learn how to taste Gin, then a Gin tasting from Tasting Collection is perfect! Learn so much about tasting gin:
Actually, it's a complete gin course in a beautiful gift package! But without the tedium of a course and with the fun things that a course lacks. And what could be more fun than a gin tasting course?
All this with a gin tasting that you can do at home, from your old chair, nice and cosy on the couch, dressed up in a suit, or nice and cosy in your jogging trousers, tasting as you like! This is also the most honest way of tasting; that bottle of wine you discovered on holiday and took a few bottles home with you? It tastes different when you drink it at home. That's why tasting at home is always the most honest. It's all about the taste, not the environment or the experience.
It is also very nice to have snacks with your gin tasting, and this can be as simple or elaborate as you like. For example, you can use water or white baguette (without toppings) to neutralise your taste palette between the different gins, but you can also make very nice combinations, such as cucumber with certain gins, or just a cosy board to make it complete. As you taste more gins, you will discover many flavours in gins and learn what is a good match with each other.
The perfect gin glasses for tasting There are many types of glasses, but which one is the best for tasting? That depends entirely on how you are going to taste. The most famous gin glass is the Gin&Tonic glass also called balloon, which looks a bit like a wine glass but then a bit rounder. This one is perfect for making Gin&Tonics but it is actually not good at all for tasting. If you are going to taste the gin pure, we recommend a Glencairn glass. This glass is specially designed to taste your gin as well as possible. A lot of time and research went into this and the result is the perfect tasting glass!
We often get the question: Which gin is good for a beginner? And that is one of the most difficult questions. Because tastes differ. Don't know where to start? Then we recommend that you start with the first gin set, in which you get many different styles and you will find out the quickest which gin you like best. Once you have discovered which type of gin you like best, you can choose one of the other sets that go further in that direction. So there's always plenty to taste!
